Meet Dana C., the stylist behind Styling in Paris

How do you get dressed when your wardrobe is overflowing but nothing feels quite right?

You call Dana C.

As the personal stylist behind Styling in Paris, Dana isn’t just about putting together beautiful outfits — she’s about helping women rediscover their style with intention, ease, and a little bit of that French magic. Her approach is grounded in thoughtful choices, timeless pieces, and the belief that your wardrobe should support your life — not complicate it.

In this conversation, Dana invites us into her world—one where style is deeply personal and elegance comes from knowing who you are. She shares how she packs intentionally and how a neutral palette and great accessories always pull it together.

We talk about how travel influences her style, how she blends in without losing herself, and what she’d wear aboard the Belmond from Paris to Florence. Her thoughtful take on packing and presence will leave you inspired to rethink your own travel wardrobe—with a little more ease and confidence.

What was your first solo travel experience, and what made it special?

Barcelona was the first city I explored alone. There was magic in getting lost, letting the labyrinth of streets guide me rather than the map—we used our phones so little back in those days. I still remember how mesmerised I was by Gaudí’s work. I loved Casa Batlló, and I can still picture the golden hour in Park Güell.

How do you pack for a trip? Any tips to share?

I start by thinking in outfits, not items. Everything I pack should work in at least two ways. A blazer that dresses up denim or layers over a sundress. A silk shirt that works at breakfast or dinner.

I stick to a neutral palette with one or two accent pieces—usually something I love and feel confident in. Accessories are the most important: sunglasses, a good bag and jewellery. They take up little space but add polish to everything.

Shoes are always the hardest, but I try to limit myself to three: one for walking, one for evenings, and one that feels effortlessly me.

And most importantly: I leave space. For pieces I might pick up along the way, for unexpected moments, for the version of me that travels a little lighter.

How much does a place inspire you when choosing your clothes?

I think the most important styling tip is to adapt yourself to the places you’re going.

To respect the culture you’re about to discover, to blend in with ease, and not show up in the loudest version of tourist style. You can still be yourself—just a version of you that flows with the city rather than clashes with it. It’s in the fabrics you choose, the colors, the silhouettes. The art is in the subtle shift.

Do you have a travel uniform?

Yes, always versatile pieces: a good pair of jeans, a white tee or shirt, loafers, blazer.

What would you wear if you were boarding the Belmond train from Paris to Florence?

A pair of high-waisted tailored silk trousers paired with a silk blouse in a neutral tone—something breathable but refined. Over that, a lightweight cashmere sweater or a classic blazer for layering. For shoes, I’d choose sleek loafers or a pair of slingbacks, a structured leather bag, delicate gold jewellery.
